Arrival and start our tour in Madrid. We will admire the impressive monuments and squares, starting with the central point, Puerta del Sol, where the statue symbol of the city is located. We will also see the square of the goddess Cybele, the Puerta de Alcalá and Retiro Park. We will visit the unique Prado Museum, which houses 3,000 paintings and one of the most important collections of Spanish painters whilst enjoy the masterpieces of great artists such as Velázquez, Mourilio, Goya, El Greco etc. The tour concludes with a visit to the Palacio Real, the famous Royal Palace. A colossal Italian baroque building with 2,800 rooms, where we will have the opportunity to admire some of them. Transfer to our hotel in Salamanca. Overnight. (Lunch, Dinner)
After our breakfast we will start with our tour in Salamanca. Salamanca is a wonderful, youthful and wise city. The historic center has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, while the University of the city was the first founded in Spain and is also one of the oldest in Europe. Salamanca has a wealth of history, but it is also modern, fun and dynamic, while the student population takes care of giving life and atmosphere to this city 24 hours a day. The Plaza Mayor, a former bullfight area is not only the largest but also the most beautiful square in Spain and takes up 4,400 square meters. The Casa Lis, a building of Art Nouveau, opposite the Automobile Museum, houses a museum with more than 2,000 different decorative objects (Nouveau art and Art Deco). We continue with the palace La Casa de las Conchas (house of shells) which is decorated with more than 300 stone shells and built in the late 15th century by Rodrigo Arias de Maldonado, a knight of the military strength of Santiago, which had a shell for emblem. We will admire cathedrals, which both the old and the new Cathedral of Salamanca are brilliant examples of Renaissance and Gothic. Transfer to our hotel and overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast and we start our excursion to the “City of Three Cultures,” Toledo, a city with great historical, artistic and cultural heritage. We wander through the narrow streets of the medieval town and visit the Cathedral, a unique great artists building and mixture of many architectural styles and the church of St. Thomas, where we will admire the masterpiece of El Greco “The Burial of Komitos Orgkath”. Our last stop is the house in which he lived and flourished the great painter. Return to hotel and overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast and departure for Madrid. Arrival, panoramic city tour, transfer and check in at your hotel. Free time to wander in the beautiful capital and enjoy the Spanish cuisine. Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast and start our excursion to Segovia and Avila. Departure and after a very nice journey in rich plains, arriving in Segovia, one of the oldest cities in Spain. Browsing the Roman aqueduct, the most well preserved of antiquity and stroll the narrow streets of the city. From Segovia we continue to Avila, the “City of stones and saints.” Visit the 12th century castle with its granite towers, typical example of medieval fortification in Romance and Gothic churches. Free time and return to Madrid. Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for our return flight. (Breakfast)
